Making a wicked start in 2010, local mix assassin dj dred (aka julz) has stomped out 5 top shelf mixes already this year. However this should come as no surprise. Dred has been busting out mixes in the A.C.T for well over a decade.
“I started mixing records with my brother dj kaos when I was 14. In the beginning we had 1 turntable and would take turns cutting it up over cassettes and the radio. Kao$ then got a couple of belt drive turntables with rolling pitch control and a fat 6 channel mixers. BLAB, BLAB, etc.”

Almost certainly inspired by his brother Kaos, Dred was not to be out done with plenty of early banging cassette tag team mashups with dj’s like Archie, Stylus, Djc, Buick, Rokit and Direct Drive on projects like Ruff’n’Ready, Tour of duty, Sunday Sessions and heaps more. Rising quickly to the top of the heap Kaos and Dred featured twice on triple j’s mixup. The last 10 years has seen a relentless bombardment of absolute classic mixing skill, from possibly Canberra best ever mix maker, the one and only Dred.
